Film & Media Creator
I am a creative leader, hoping to use my art, ideas and writing to facilitate change and peace.
At my university, I mobilize the creative community through my club, Alloy Media. Alloy is a creative student group serving as a network and community for students, with focuses in film, fashion and photography. We promote creative opportunities on and off campus, host events to connect creative students and facilitate collaborations between creative groups.

I hope to be a filmmaker on day, in both its business side and its creative side. I love to write, act, direct as well as create marketing plans and materials. I enjoy the art of filmmaking and the technical/social coordination it requires.
I have had the pleasure of creating two children's books thus far: I Love My Kinky Hair (2016) & Oscar Wears Pink Clothes (2020).
Oscar Wears Pink Clothes, written and illustrated by me, came to be from an 8th grade Spanish assignment my principal urged me to formally develop. Following a small sloth, it focuses on owning one's personal preferences and behaviors and being a supportive friend.
I am currently seeking publishing avenues for this work as well as other children's stories I have drafted. Please visit the Acquainting page for contact information.
I Love My Kinky Hair, authored by my beautiful mother (Nadene Mckenzie-Reid) and illustrated by me, was the catalyst of it all. The catalyst for both of us to own our journies as black women, and use them for good by presenting inspirational themes to our community.
Public Speaker
I am a public speaker who uses her personal testimonies, experiences and publications to promote the power and necessity of empathy, respect, social progress and self-love. I have done many events with young children (and few with adults) using my self-published children's books to capture these themes in a palatable way that facilitates discussion and compassion.
